Vulva Pottery
Focused on creating a narrative between the hand-made things we use, and the ways we view women, this work includes live cast vulvas from numerous women, and attached to functional ceramics.
These pieces are inherently collaborative, not only between myself and with the person whose vulva is being cast, but with the user who might drink her morning coffee out of one of my mugs. This type of collaboration reflects on our own needs for unity in order to tackle larger feminist issues. I call upon the user of these objects to think about their larger meaning, as they use them in their daily life.
